Schneider Electric to acquire PTC for $22.6bn

French electrical engineering group Schneider Electric confirmed reports from the previous day on 5 October 2026 and is buying Boston-based industrial software company PTC outright for cash: $205 per share, a 42.3% premium to the last closing price, valuing the equity at about $22.6bn and the enterprise at $23.7bn. The deal is to be funded with new shares and debt and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2027; in June Schneider had already agreed to buy industrial data specialist Cognite (Business Standard/Reuters, 5 Oct 2026; second source: Boston Globe, 5 Oct 2026).
