Paris department store BHV enters receivership

The Paris commercial court opened receivership proceedings (redressement judiciaire) on 2 November 2026 for SEGM BHV, which includes the historic department store at the Hôtel de Ville and BHV Parly 2. The company employs about 700 people (September figures); a six-month observation period, which can be renewed, will decide whether it is restructured, sold to a buyer or liquidated. The store had been resold at a loss in June (BFMTV/AFP, 2 November 2026).
