French shipping line CMA CGM intends to take a minority stake in Container Terminal Hamburg; its owner EUROGATE says talks cover 20 per cent. No price is given, but investment commitments have been agreed, including for the planned western extension of the terminal at Waltershofer Hafen. Hamburg's economics senator welcomed the move. (LOK Report, 13 Nov 2025) Update (30.06.2026): the deal has not yet closed. A term sheet for 20% of EUROGATE Container Terminal Hamburg GmbH was signed with CMA Terminals (CMA CGM) in the third quarter of 2025, followed on 29.06.2026 by a similar one with Hanseatic Global Terminals (Hapag-Lloyd) for a further 20%; the binding agreements are still being negotiated and will then need corporate and regulatory approval (Hogan Lovells, statement as adviser to EUROGATE, 30.06.2026).
