UAE telecoms group e& transferred its 16.21% stake in Vodafone on 18 July 2026 for $5.95bn (110.5 pence per share) to Vega, the investment vehicle of Iliad owner Xavier Niel, making Niel Vodafone's largest single shareholder. Completion ended the e&–Vodafone cooperation agreement and e&'s board representative resigned. e& had built the stake in 2022 for around £3.3bn (net cash inflow of roughly $1.3bn).
