France launches call for projects for European semiconductor IPCEI

A preparatory step towards a further European semiconductor IPCEI (Important Project of Common European Interest) on advanced chip technologies; coordinated since 2024 by France, Germany and the Netherlands.

On 17 July 2026 France's Ministry for the Economy and Finance (Bercy) launched a call for projects (via official press release No. 907) to identify French participants and partners for the future PIIEC/IPCEI on advanced semiconductor technologies. The initiative is funded under France 2030 and has been coordinated since 2024 with Germany and the Netherlands. The release did not state an official funding amount.
