Electrical equipment group Legrand announced on 4 June 2026 that it will close its four French plants Pont-en-Royans, Lagord, Confolens and Châlus by the end of 2028; 178 of about 5,000 French jobs go, with internal transfers and early retirement on offer. Activities move to Limoges (Magré, Sitel), Sillé-le-Guillaume and Saint-Marcellin; French output had fallen 17% between 2019 and 2025 according to L'Usine Nouvelle (ICI, 4 June 2026; France 3).
