Event
The Commission makes legally binding Sanofi's commitments in the antitrust case over alleged disparagement of competing flu vaccine Fluad in Germany and France

Until March 2030 Sanofi may not portray Fluad negatively in promotional material for healthcare professionals in Germany and France, must publish a clarifying statement on its websites for 24 months and send it to previously targeted professionals; a monitoring trustee oversees implementation. No fine

The Commission has made legally binding commitments from Sanofi in the case on an alleged disparagement campaign against rival vaccine Fluad (CSL Seqirus), which it opened on 26 June 2026. Sanofi undertakes not to use disparaging statements about Fluad in Germany and France until March 2030 and to correct the effects of earlier messages; a market test in July and August 2026 led to wider outreach in Germany. The decision carries no fine (European Commission, 14 Oct 2026).
