Tamedia integrates AI and data into newsroom, cutting 30 jobs

AI applications are being increasingly integrated into editorial and operational processes to boost efficiency and improve quality. New organizational unit 'AI & Data' to centralize the AI strategy. Parallelization of print and digital business in separate divisions with shared use of AI.

New 'AI & Data' unit led by Nadia Kohler, reporting directly to CEO Jessica Peppel-Schulz. Goal: to push the digital business massively with the help of technology and AI. In parallel: 25-30 job cuts (25-30 full-time positions), mainly in commercial areas. Reorganisation as of 1 March 2026. The Syndicom union criticises the AI integration in the context of the redundancies.
