Tamedia is cutting a further 25-30 full-time jobs. As of 1 March 2026, the print and digital businesses will be organisationally separated and run in their own divisions. Staff cuts will primarily be in the commercial areas of German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland. Journalist and editorial jobs are not affected (employment guarantee until September 2026). AI applications will be increasingly integrated into editorial and operational processes. A new 'AI & Data' unit will be led by Nadia Kohler. The Syndicom union criticises the announcement as an 'empty promise' (originally a two-year hiring freeze on layoffs was promised from November 2024).
