- The Slovenian National Assembly confirms the new government under Prime Minister Janez Janša, with 15 ministries instead of 20
The SDS holds seven ministries, the NSi-led trio five and the Democrats three; tax cuts, streamlined administration and more business-friendly policies are announced
The government wants to reform the economic model and boost growth through tax cuts, leaner administration and the fight against corruption, with more room for private initiative in healthcare and education too. Janša pledged before the vote to reach out to the opposition; his predecessor Robert Golob formally handed over office (Government of the Republic of Slovenia, 5 Jun 2026).
