Sandoz to build biosimilar drug substance plant in Ljubljana for about $300m

Generics maker Sandoz is building a biologic drug substance facility next to its recently opened biosimilar development centre in Ljubljana, with four single-use fed-batch bioreactors totalling 8,000 litres of capacity. The plant is due to start operating in 2029 and will serve both clinical and commercial manufacturing; it is part of the company's "Bio100" goal, and Sandoz has not given a number of new jobs (Sandoz, 08.09.2026).
