Line 1 of the Montpellier tramway was extended by 1.3 km on 18 October 2025 from its former terminus at Odysseum to the new Gare Montpellier Sud de France TGV station in the Cambacérès district. Travel time between Saint-Roch and Sud de France stations is now about 20 minutes, with up to 3,800 daily passengers expected at the new terminus. The extension cost approximately EUR 50 million according to the City of Montpellier, co-funded by the Occitanie region, the French state, and Montpellier Métropole.
