On 25 August 2026 the commercial court ordered the liquidation of three more Gibert bookshops (Évreux, Poitiers and the Librairie de la Place on Quai Saint-Michel in Paris) after no buyer was found, affecting 27 jobs in total. It follows the receivership opened in April 2026 and the 'Gibert 2030' recovery plan; the group is left with ten shops in ten cities (Livres Hebdo, 25 August 2026).
