Lenzing to end Grimsby lyocell output by 2027

Under the same 27 July 2026 transformation programme, Lenzing will also phase out production at its English lyocell plant in Grimsby by the end of 2027, withdrawing from the United Kingdom. Built by Courtaulds, the site is regarded as the birthplace of the Tencel fibre brand. Lenzing gave no figure for the employees affected, saying it would consult employee representatives on appropriate support measures. Fibre production will be concentrated on selected core sites, including the group's home plant in Lenzing, Upper Austria.
