The Cofigeo group announced on 8 September 2026 the closure of the historic William Saurin factory in Saint-Thibault-des-Vignes (Seine-et-Marne), the founding site of the brand established in 1898. The closure affects 142 jobs and is planned for 2027, citing declining activity and the impossibility of modernizing the site (titrespresse.com, 8 Sept 2026).
