EU approves French aid scheme for eleven offshore wind farms

up to €63bn over 25 years for up to 11.1 GW; about 10.6% of French electricity consumption

The European Commission has approved France's aid scheme of up to €63 bn for eleven offshore wind farms totalling up to 11.1 GW (the first approval under the Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework). The farms are to deliver up to 47.8 TWh/year, around 10.6% of France's electricity consumption; support via a two-sided CfD through tenders.
