RER line E (Eole) is being extended westward from Nanterre–La Folie via Poissy, Les Mureaux and other stations to Mantes-la-Jolie, with opening officially announced for 28 February 2027 (confirmed June 2026 at the Salon des Maires d'Île-de-France). The 55 km overall line from Haussmann-Saint-Lazare gains 13 new stations across 14 municipalities and cuts the Mantes-la-Jolie–La Défense journey to about 40 minutes. An earlier section to Nanterre–La Folie has been in service since May 2024; service will start with four trains/hour, rising to six by end of 2029.
