France moves to ratify EU-Vietnam investment pact

Affects more than 250 French companies employing around 26,000 people in Vietnam; improves investment protection and dispute settlement for European investors.

On 27 July 2026 the French council of ministers approved the bill ratifying the EU–Vietnam investment protection agreement signed back in 2019. The agreement only enters into force once every member state has ratified it.
