Jaguar Land Rover announced on 30 July 2026 that it will cut several hundred jobs as part of a major transformation plan; according to the Press Association fewer than 300 jobs are affected (recorded here as an upper bound of 300). The group employs about 30,000 people in the UK and roughly 10,000 abroad; JLR did not disclose which sites will be hit. The report cites the continuing recovery from last year's cyber attack, which halted production, as well as US tariff measures. JLR builds most of its cars in Solihull (West Midlands) and Halewood (Merseyside), and in Slovakia. Update (7 September 2026): JLR announced up to 4,000 job cuts over two years (separate follow-up entry); that entry carries the figure, this one is the earlier stage and is no longer counted.
