The roughly 6.5 km extension of Madrid Metro Line 11 runs from Plaza Elíptica via the new stations Comillas and Madrid Río to the interchange stations Palos de la Frontera (Line 3), Atocha (Line 1) and Conde de Casal (Line 6). Construction started in November 2022 (contractor UTE Rover-Acciona-Dragados); per an official Comunidad de Madrid statement of 20 January 2026, works are about 50% complete, with completion planned for end of 2027 (Spanish Wikipedia cites 2028 in places). The goal is to relieve Line 6 and raise Line 11 ridership from about 50,000 to 75,000 passengers per day. The originally supplied date of 2030-12-31 is clearly contradicted by the sources and was corrected to the documented completion year 2027.
