US asset manager Nuveen is buying Schroders for £5.90 per share in cash; including permitted dividends of up to 22 pence per share the deal values Schroders at about £9.9bn. The combined group manages nearly US$2.5tn (Yahoo Finance, 12 February 2026). Update (6 July 2026): the European Commission cleared the deal as case M.12392 (European Commission, Daily News, 6 July 2026). Update (1 October 2026): after court sanction Nuveen completed the takeover and Schroders has been delisted (Scottish Financial News, 1 October 2026).
