Baseyard, a company founded by Latvian entrepreneur Olegs Jakovlevs, plans to build an industrial site for defence and dual-use technology in Braga, initially focusing on unmanned systems, electronics, communications, AI and detection systems. Operations are due to start in Q4 2026 with around 30 staff, growing to about 200 jobs by 2029; total investment is expected to exceed €20m, funded privately as well as through grants and support schemes (ECO, 25 Sep 2026).
