Ecco to close factories in Portugal and Vietnam, cutting 2,450 jobs

The Danish shoemaker is closing two of its own factories because of overcapacity, in Portugal with 650 staff and in Vietnam with 1,400; production will continue in Indonesia, Thailand and China. A further 400 jobs in global and regional functions go by the end of the year, 80 of them in Denmark, and the owning family is injecting €50m of fresh capital.
