Vantive invests €150m in medtech plant in Malta

The kidney care specialist Vantive, spun out of Baxter's kidney division in 2025 and acquired by Carlyle funds, is building a plant for plastic medical devices and consumables for kidney treatment on 16,000 m² in Ħal Far. 250 jobs are to be created; construction is due to start in 2026, completion is planned for 2027 and full operation for 2029. Prime Minister Abela called it the largest foreign direct investment in Malta's history (Lovin Malta, 6 May 2026; second source: Med-Tech World, 7 May 2026).
