Ukraine has received a first grant of EUR 73.5 million from the European Commission; the project is financed half from EU funds and half from the Ukrainian budget, and construction is to be finished by the end of 2027. Skniliv–Mostyska is the first of four sub-projects of the overall Mostyska–Lviv European-gauge track project and extends Ukraine's direct link to the TEN-T network; the Chop–Uzhhorod standard-gauge line had opened about two months earlier.
