Event
Member States endorse on 28.09.2026 the first five European Defence Projects of Common Interest (EDPCIs) under the European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP)

The Commission has earmarked €325m from EDIP to set up and deploy the projects; on average 18 Member States take part in each project, and Ukraine in four of the five.

EDPCIs are long-term cooperation projects that individual states could not manage alone, covering areas such as drones and counter-drone systems, maritime and seabed defence, space, air and missile defence and Eastern Flank security. The Commission has allocated €325m from EDIP to set them up; the projects are also open to Norway and Ukraine (European Commission, 28.09.2026).
