The scheme's total budget rises to €161m; aid for primary agricultural producers facing higher diesel prices, running until 31 Dec 2026
The Commission has cleared a further budget increase for a Spanish scheme that partly offsets farmers' higher diesel costs linked to the Middle East crisis. It is the second top-up after €55m in July; the original scheme was approved on 2 June 2026. The legal basis is the Middle East Crisis Temporary State Aid Framework (METSAF) of 29 April 2026 (European Commission, Daily News, 19 Oct 2026).
