The 137.8 km Teruel–Sagunto section is the still-non-electrified southern part of the Zaragoza–Teruel–Sagunto railway line. In July 2026 Adif tendered a EUR 1.5 million preliminary study on noise and vibration protection, a prerequisite for the actual electrification, budgeted at 30 (extendable to 42) months; Adif has not set a binding completion date for the electrification itself, so the list's target year of 2028 appears uncertain. The northern Zaragoza–Teruel section of the same line, by contrast, is expected to enter service in the second half of 2026. Update (10 Sep 2026): According to a LOK Report article, the Transport Ministry announced in July 2026 that it will forgo both electrification and double-tracking of the southern Teruel–Sagunto section, citing a lack of funds. The chambers of commerce of Valencia and Aragon and the committee Teruel existe oppose the decision; on the northern Zaragoza–Teruel section (190 km) upgrading and 25 kV AC electrification continue (LOK Report, 10 Sep 2026).
