On 7 April 2026 the three newly built stations Moseley Village, Pineapple Road and Kings Heath on the Camp Hill line between Birmingham New Street and Kings Norton (south Birmingham) opened to passengers - the first resumption of local service since the line closed in 1946, an 80-year gap. West Midlands Railway plans a half-hourly daytime service (three trains per hour in late evening); around 35,000 passenger journeys were recorded through the new stations in their first three weeks. A future scheme ("Bordesley Chords") is planned to additionally link the route to Birmingham Moor Street.
