The 77.8 km Tallinn–Tapa railway in northern Estonia (17 stations, incl. Kehra, Aegviidu, Lehtse) is now fully electrified: 3 kV DC from Tallinn to Aegviidu, then 25 kV AC to Tapa. On 5 January 2026 operator Elron began services on the line with new Škoda rolling stock at a maximum speed of 160 km/h; the wider passenger network otherwise runs Stadler FLIRT trains. Infrastructure is maintained by EVR Infra, a subsidiary of Eesti Raudtee.
