Pfizer plans to reduce its Swiss workforce from 300 to 70 employees (230 jobs). The Zug branch had already been reduced from 200 to 131 in summer 2024 (69 dismissals). The current round of cuts is part of the global cost-saving programme; the affected sites (Opfikon ZH, Zug) remain unclear. The Swiss branch is classified as less important.
