HMV to close Oxford Street flagship store

HMV will leave its Oxford Street flagship at 363 Oxford Street, reopened in 2023, in March 2027 after landlords proposed doubling the rent and the site faced substantial renovation costs. More than 50 staff are affected; HMV plans to move them to its two other London stores or head office and is seeking a new West End site (BBC, 12 Oct 2026).
