Moray West offshore wind farm (882 MW) is now in operation

Moray West is located in the North Sea's Moray Firth, about 40 km north of Buckie, with an installed capacity of 882 MW from 60 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-222 DD turbines (14.7 MW each). It is operated by Ocean Winds, a joint venture between EDP Renováveis and Engie; grid connection occurred in July 2024, with official commissioning on 24 April 2025. Amazon and Google have signed long-term power purchase agreements for 473 MW and 100 MW respectively.
