Portugal secures funding for Casa Branca–Beja electrification

Delivery of the works is financially safeguarded despite the reallocation of regional funds; the report does not give total cost, the amount of additional funds or a timetable.

The Minister for Environment and Energy announced in Beja on 20 December 2025 that funding for the upgrade of the Casa Branca–Beja line is in place. Because regional funds were reallocated, the government is taking over the resulting shortfall and thereby guaranteeing that the section is modernised, renovated and electrified; the report gives no amounts, construction period or completion date.
