Palma Metro's Line M1 was extended by 1.4 km (1.1 km underground) from UIB station to the new Parc Bit terminus in the technology park. Balearic President Marga Prohens inaugurated the line on 2 July 2025, with regular passenger service starting 3 July 2025. The line now spans 9.9 km with 10 stations; the roughly EUR 28.9 million investment was largely funded through EU recovery funds.
