The chemical group BASF plans to cut around 600 jobs at its Antwerp site by the end of 2028. The site employs around 3,000 people and is the second-largest production facility of the German BASF group. Aim: to reduce fixed costs by €150 million by 2028 compared with 2024. Reasons: the economic environment and the 'absence of noticeable effects from industrial support measures'. No Renault procedure will be initiated; employees are to find new employment within or outside the group. Details will follow in the coming months.
