Covestro to merge polycarbonate lines in Antwerp, up to 260 jobs affected

Covestro plans to cut polycarbonate production at its Antwerp site from four lines to one and to end local bisphenol A production. Up to 260 of the roughly 970 employees could be affected; the company cites high costs, weak demand and Asian overcapacity, and the remaining line is to focus on specialty grades.
