Spain to complete Navalmoral–Plasencia high-speed rail section by 2026

The roughly 68.8 km Navalmoral de la Mata–Plasencia section is part of Spain's Madrid–Extremadura–Portuguese border high-speed line and is being built as double track. It is currently under construction, with track-laying and electrification work ongoing (the electrification project was still at draft stage as of early 2023).
