Plastics processor SPHERE España is investing €6.3m in modernising its Spanish production sites. €5.2m goes to the main Pedrola plant (Zaragoza) for technological upgrades and automation of its extrusion lines; €1.1m goes to its Barcelona subsidiary Plasticbag, which makes bags from 100% recycled material for the professional channel. The Pedrola plant runs entirely on electricity from renewable sources and covers around 15% of its power consumption from its own photovoltaic installation. No figure for new jobs was given.
