The Wien Meidling–Mödling section, with up to 400 trains per weekday, is one of the busiest segments in the ÖBB network. The four-track expansion, listed as "in planning" on the official ÖBB project page, is intended to enable a 5-minute S-Bahn interval between Meidling and Liesing and a 10-minute interval to Mödling, including two new stops (Wien Benyastraße, Brunn Vesperkreuzstraße), full accessibility, and the removal of two level crossings. According to the Wikipedia article on the Südbahn, the expansion is planned for roughly 2027 to 2032; no investment figure is stated in the checked sources.
