Wiener Linien opens U2 station Lina-Loos-Platz in Donaustadt

Wiener Linien opened the new U2 station Lina-Loos-Platz between Aspernstrasse and Hausfeldstrasse in Vienna's 22nd district on 19 January 2026, taking the city's metro network to 110 stations and the U2 between Seestadt and Karlsplatz to 21. The shell dates from the 2013 U2 extension to Seestadt; fitting-out ran from 2021 alongside normal service and covered stairways, an island platform, two bicycle garages, two lifts and rooftop solar panels. The station serves the Oberes Hausfeld development area, where about 3,700 homes on roughly 26 hectares are planned for around 8,000 residents; the report gives no construction cost (LOK Report, 19 Jan 2026).
