Report: Whirlpool considers closing its Fabriano site

Following a board meeting, Whirlpool told staff at its Whirlpool Technology (ex Wrap) engineering office in Fabriano that it is considering closing the site; around 40 engineers specialising in washing-appliance electronics would be affected. So far the communication explicitly refers only to a "possibility" — no final decision has been taken (reported situation). The second Italian engineering office in Varese (cooking appliances) is to be retained; together the two offices employ roughly 70 people. The background is the transfer of Whirlpool's European white-goods core business to Arçelik, which created the newco Beko Europe (Corriere Adriatico, 18 Sep 2026; ANSA, 18 Sep 2026).
