Nomad Capital Group, registered only at the end of March 2026 with €50,000 of capital, notified the Bulgarian competition authority on 10 Aug 2026 of its intention to buy the idled Maritsa East 3 lignite plant, the country's second-largest coal-fired plant, and its operator. According to the authority the buyer currently conducts no business operations; the plant has been idle since April 2025, when the state offtake contract expired.
