Sofia Med plans €19.5m copper recycling plant in Sofia

Bulgarian metals company Sofia Med plans to build, under its SVAROG project at its Sofia site, a plant refining about 30,000 t of mixed copper scrap a year into copper of over 99.9% purity. The project (about €19.49m, including a proposed €6.2m grant) passed evaluation in the EU Innovation Fund and was invited to grant preparation; the report gives neither a construction date nor job numbers (BTA, 23 Oct 2026).
