VESS Modules opens 1 GW solar module plant in Kardzhali

VESS Modules has opened a fully automated photovoltaic module plant in Kardzhali with an initial annual capacity of 1 GW; the investment is €15m, 200 jobs have been created, and an expansion to 3 GW is planned. The investor calls it the first fully automated module plant of this size in the EU; Deputy Economy Minister Krasimir Yakimov attended the opening (Balkan Green Energy News, 2 Oct 2026).
