Zentralbahn builds Staldifeld double track for half-hourly Engelberg trains

For the Staldifeld double track between Stans and Dallenwil near Oberdorf (canton of Nidwalden), Zentralbahn has received the plan approval of the Federal Office of Transport, which has been legally binding since 28 February 2026; preparatory works were due to start at the end of March 2026. The roughly 800-metre section forms part of the 2035 expansion step and is a precondition for a half-hourly service between Lucerne and Engelberg from December 2026.
