Status
Reopened on 1 September 2026 (passenger service had been suspended for three years)

Passenger trains have run between Tiszaújváros and Miskolc again since 1 September 2026, three years after the service was ended on the decision of the then transport minister János Lázár (announced by Minister Dávid Vitézy on 17 August 2026). Ten train pairs run daily in 33 to 38 minutes, tailored to commuters in the morning and every two hours during the day, calling at Sajószöged, Hejőkeresztúr and Nyékládháza with connections to InterCity trains at Miskolc; BDVmot railcars are used, and a coordinated bus line links the station, which lies away from the town, to the centre. The electrified line carries considerable freight, the petrochemical town of Tiszaújváros has about 14,000 inhabitants, and neither report gives any costs. (LOK Report, 19 Sep 2026)
