EU adopts €115m AGILE programme for rapid defence innovation

€115m for SMEs, start-ups and scale-ups; 20 to 30 projects with up to 100% funding, four months to grant; fully operational from early 2027
According to the Commission, the AGILE regulation was adopted less than seven months after its March 2026 proposal. The €115m programme is to fund 20 to 30 projects at up to 100% of eligible costs and cut the time to grant to four months; full implementation is planned for early 2027 (European Commission, 12 Oct 2026).
