EIB lends Klaipėda port €100m for expansion due by end of 2027

The Klaipėda State Seaport Authority is modernising the Lithuanian seaport in 13 sub-projects, including upgraded quays for building and servicing offshore wind farms, shore power for ferries, green hydrogen facilities, low-emission port vessels and a cruise terminal that NATO ships can also use. The EIB covers about half of the €201m total cost with a €100m loan signed on 08.07.2026 and made public on 15.09.2026. The date 31.12.2027 is a placeholder for the stated completion "by the end of 2027" (offshoreWIND.biz, 15.09.2026; EIB project page).
