Clarebout plans to end production at Mouscron 1 plant, 392 jobs affected

Frozen potato producer Clarebout Potatoes told its works council on 08.09.2026 that it intends to end production at the Mouscron 1 site of its subsidiary Mydibel; up to 392 employees could be affected. The company cites persistently difficult market conditions for frozen potato products and says Mouscron 1 is the group's smallest and oldest plant with the highest production cost per tonne; a final decision is only to be taken after the statutory information and consultation procedure (Renault procedure) (RTBF/Belga, 08.09.2026; second source: Paris Match Belgique, 08.09.2026).
